Represent One Answer

Represent One Answer examines the standardised life path often expected within Asian families. A temple divination ritual becomes the shared visual language for five stages of life, each represented through a different material body.

Five performers of different ages stand along a red temple wall, each beside their own mixed-media pillar

Five lives, five materials

Childhood, adolescence, youth, middle age, and later life are each given their own tactile language. Paper cutting, rope, dyed organza, hair, and talismanic paper carry distinct pressures, desires, and forms of uncertainty.
